La Bobadilla Hotel, Loja, Granada

25 de Abril, 2010

As summer time is coming closer I have decided to post some information about my favourite options for families who travel to Spain. Most of our clients are families who look for experiences which interest all the members of the family. As I have my own children this subject is very important for me. The best time of the year are the holidays and we look forward to enjoy together. I hope you find useful my suggestions.  One of my favourite hotels for families with children is La Bobadilla at Loja (Granada). This hotel is located 70 Km away from

Granada, one of the most beautiful cities in the World. It was an old Spanish Country house (cortijo) and it has been restored by Barcelo hotel chain keeping the taste of the old house.  The exclusive hotel GL Barcelo La Bobadilla is located in the heart of Andalusia not too far away from Granada. It has been built following the style of the old Andalusian palaces. Its 70 wide rooms are all different. They have been carefully restored to keep to taste of this land. The rooms include lovely bathrooms which join white marble with noble wood and brick. The hotel has too magnificent restaurants “La Finca” which is speialized on creative and gourmet food and “El Cortijo” where hosts can taste the best of Spanish traditional cuisine. In summer time they also open the restaurant “Mirador” where hosts can taste the recipes manufactured with traditional market goods.  This is one of our recommended hotels for families because everyone will find entertainment at this hotel. Its location makes it perfect to organize excursions and for visiting area attatractions. In adition, the hotel organize lots of activities at the hotel such as horse riding, mini-Olympics.

8 de Marzo, 2010

The Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza is one of the must see visits for those who love art and visit Spain. Its permanent collection is one of the most important colections in the World. Thanks to its wide net of contatcs in the world of art its managers are able to organize temporary exhibitions that join the interest for art experts and for those who just wnjy at the sight of a beatiful picture.

From 2010 February 23rd to May 30th the Museum presents the exhibition Monet and Abstraction.

The Museum introduces to the exhibition as follows:

Monet and Abstraction re-examines the work of the Impressionist painter Claude Monet in the light of his crucial role in the development of Abstract Expressionism and other forms of painterly abstraction in the first decades of the second half of the twentieth century. Monet was able to transform the Impressionists’ observation of nature into a new apprehension of the artistic medium, and his manner of expressing his own subjective experience through purely pictorial means brought him to the threshold of abstraction.

Gran Melia Colon

26 de Mayo, 2009

Hotel Melia at Seville city centre has being deeply restored in the last two years. Just steps away from

La Magdalena Church and at the best commercial area in the city. It was traditionally the favourite hotel for the Toreros who showed their art at La Maestranza,

Seville bullring.

The hotel was a privileged witness of those previous hours of pray and concentration for the most important bullfighters in the World. There is not very much of that hotel no. The new face shows a minimalist and modern deco, worked by Alvaro Sanz and Chus Manzanares keeping the glamour of the Belle Epoque architecture. Each detail has been cared carefully.

The rooms are full of contemporary luxe. It also has a Red Level, a floor only for daults where the guest can enjoy the very best of Spanish chain Sol Melia.El Burgaladero, the tapas bar on the ground floor of the hotel was the meeting point for Spanish high society who attends to bullfights previously to the corrida. Dani Garcia, a pupil of Martin Berasategui, National Award of Gastronomy and with two Michelin stars in the past will be the master who will be in charge of giving a new face to El Burladero keeping the taste of Andalusian cuisine.

Basque Country at Lonely Planet favourite destinations

25 de Enero, 2009

Lonely Planet’s annual list of emerging destinations and hip classics includes one of our favourite destinations in Spain.

BASQUE COUNTRY France & Spain They say: “Walkers fall head over heels for the Pyrenean vistas where vultures soar on the thermals; art fans trip out on the futuristic fantasy of Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum; and everyone loses control at allnight street parties a million people strong. The Basque country is a cocktail of fun, sun, culture and beauty.”
